PHOENIX

Phoenix of a fiery hue,
Bird of passion, I praise you.
Flames leaping at your wings,
Oh lovely bird of pleasured things.

Phoenix, captivating gold and red,
You may die, but you’re never dead.
For when you burst into a flame,
From your ashes, a bird born again.

Strong and on fire, bird of the sky,
I sit and watch you float ever so high.
Pain in my heart, my fear goes on strong,
You were supposed to bring light, you go it all wrong.

Flying into the sunset, your cries are well heard,
The love and excitement of this sweet bird.
I had you once now I can’t have you back,
I sit and stare until the sky turns black.

Far, far away the phoenix did go,
No one around me but I’m not alone.
Phoenix, captivating gold and red,
You may die, but you’re never dead.
